A mixture of ways. I work with an advertising company for some opportunities, others happen because I reach out to someone that has a product I think would be a good fit for my channel.

What their target audience is. A content creator generally knows their audience and what they are likely to be looking for. Not every product is a good fit for every audience.

Number of factors. How long they plan to advertise for. How well I think their product will go over with my audience. Some brands are an upfront cost each month only, some are a referral amount, some are a mix of the two.

Gaining an initial audience. There is a lot of content out there. Being able to get people in front of you and then being different enough to keep them there once they are watching.

I only accept sponsorships for products that I can validate and use first hand. It keeps my reviews and promotions genuine. It is also much easier to sell something I know is good.

Achieved initial notoriety from other things. For me it was traveling to play in large Magic events so the community I wanted to reach out to already knew who I was.

Do it because you love it. If you don’t enjoy what you are doing it will show and what you are making will be bad because of it.

In general I am known for being firm, specific, and no bullshit. I am to the point and tend to not sugar coat how I feel about things. Many of the people who follow me like that I am direct.
